Since joining the FCA I have participated in Paint Ins, done workshops and watched demos. It is difficult to quantify what I have learned from each and every experience.
Along with the joys of pursuing an artistic life has come hardship. During my time as part of our group, I have suffered great losses and struggled in ways that I could never have predicted. What I realize now is that is life. The path is not around the obstacles, the path IS the obstacles. What has helped to sustain me throughout has been my growing commitment to honor the urge to draw and paint and experience the world as an artist. Thank you all for being a part of that.
As your webmaster I have learned a new set of skills that will stand me in good stead and I am excited to apply this knowledge in my future endeavors. The picture I included with this post was taken in Jinshitan, China which is where I am headed in August(click on the image to learn more about this area). I have accepted a posting to teach at a private boys' high school. I am both excited and filled with trepidation but I am ready for a change and I know I will continue to grow and learn as I move in this new direction. I look forward to being creative and sharing what I know with my students.
Webmastering duties for the NOFCA will be taken over by Angelika Jaeger and I know she will continue to provide a place where all the wonderful things our group is doing can be shared with other interested people from around the world.
I hope we are able to stay in touch. I recently set up my own website http://wgoodall58.wix.com/workinprogress using Wix.com. This can become a place where we can meet up digitally. Once again many thanks, Wendy
