Membership
Member benefits include opportunities to participate in:
- Regional and international art competitions
- Workshops
- Meetings including talks and demonstrations by guest artists
- Drawing and painting as a group
- Promoting your artwork through our website and in art shows
Note: There are two steps that need to be completed in order to become a member.
- You must first join the main body of the FCA. This includes bi-monthly copies of the FCA magazine “Art Avenue” and the ability to enter juried shows through the Federation Gallery in Vancouver. Information is available on their website at www.artists.ca or email fcaadmin@artists.ca or click here for an FCA Vancouver membership application.
- Once you have paid your fee to Vancouver you are then eligible to join our chapter. Contact Ria Carpay at 250-542-5603 or by email at riacarpay@telus.net You can also get the membership form here.
The yearly chapter fee of twenty five dollars entitles members to the following:
If you are a Supporting Member...... you may attend meetings, workshops and access the chapter website for general information, meetings, shows, workshops, etc. Your name will be included on our website under "Artist Members".
If you are an Active Member...... this includes all of the above plus the inclusion of your artist's statement, an image of your work and a link to your own website (if you have one).
There are two other membership levels – Associate (AFCA) and Signature (SFCA) Status – which are juried once a year in Vancouver by a meeting of the Board of Governors comprised of SFCA members. Artists at these levels have displayed a consistent high standard of work and have been accepted into eight different juried shows in the past four years. Applications are due mid-February – click here for more information.
